What it does
Poscholars helps students prepare for their university's General Studies (GST) courses, the compulsory courses every Nigerian undergraduate takes. It now supports multiple institutions, including UNIBEN, UNILAG, and AAU, from 100 to 700 level.
- About 4,000 practice questions, with per-chapter quizzes, general quizzes, and a simulated exam.
- Key-point summaries, keyword search, text-to-speech, and bookmarks.
- Result analysis and history, a leaderboard, a timetable, and a GPA calculator.
AI features
- AI Chat over students' own uploaded course files, with page selection for more focused answers.
- Image extraction from uploaded resources.
- A course builder and AI-generated flashcards.
Engineering highlights
- Built and shipped the app on the App Store and Google Play, with a NestJS backend and a CI/CD release pipeline.
- Wrote custom native modules in Swift and Kotlin to remove JavaScript performance bottlenecks.
- Replaced a slow WebView math-rendering path with native SVG math rendering.
- Kept app size and startup time small for students on low-end devices and limited data.
- 20 releases since January 2023, adding institutions, AI features, and light and dark themes.
Poscholars also publishes the Animal Game, a quiz game for curious learners.
